we don't have a training slot today, dance studio is booked by dance soc all evening. i'm banking on them not using it, and as i am technically a member of aforementioned society I will likely be heading there at 5 to see wassup and get my train on
I'm working on summer bookings, but Margaret isn't around atm so they're being difficult about giving us bookings. We have a room every day until 6th July, by which time she should be back and I'll have sorted out the rest of the summer bookings. I don't see why we shouldn't be able to train in the union during the summer.
Hey everyone, So I've finally heard back from the room booking people and we now have these summer training slots up until the end of July (we should have rooms booked for August but it's not yet clear when we'll have our slots, as the union opening times are different (closing at 5pm), so I'll have to get back to you about that later): Wednesday, 7-9pm; every other weekday, and Saturday and Sunday, 5-8pm. The rooms aren't specified yet, i.e. we'll have to ask the porters I guess. I'm sorry but I don't have time to update the calendar atm, so please pass on the info and I'll try to find the time soon to get it on the calendar. Cheers x
Just to update: Still haven't heard from room bookings, but I've emailed them again and will hopefully have a response soon. In the meantime, all they've said is that the union is open 9am to 5pm, so we can train if we come between these times and they have space. Until they get back to us about space, I'd say just head down to the union if you can make those times and ask if there's a room free. Hopefully I'll have more news by Monday evening. x
Your bookings are in place 12-2 until 25th August then back to normal from 31st August. We have a large conference booked for 11 days of September, this may have an impact on your 5pm start time but at the moment I do not know about this as they have not confirmed the time slots for certain rooms.
We are also about to start the next phase of the refurbishment project and certain works have to be done before term starts so this will disrupt some bookings, so check your room allocation on arrival at the Reception.
I try and get the diary to Reception on a Thursday before the week commences so you should be able to check times from this.
Spoke to the porters, we have MR5A booked 5-7 every day this week except Wednesday - which is 7-9. Hopefully they won't move training around for this college course they're doing, theft didn't today so that's a good sign.
Hi Shez, we have training at the student union every day, you can see times & rooms by clicking on the calendar link at the top. There is a £5 membership fee to join the student society, which gives you access to these training session for the whole year.
I believe there are also training sessions at Motion nightclub but this is not society related.
Thanks Mike for the info. are there no training sessions this week and next?
Could you also advise where exactly are the training sessions. I am not sure where MR5C is exactly or where student union is located. What time are the training sessions?
The union is at BS8 1LN, and MR5C is on the 5th floor, but you can ask the porters at the reception area where to go.
We have "official" bookings from 10th October which are all on the calendar, I think we should have 5-7 during next week but it's Fresher's Week so I'm not certain that we actually have them, on Thursday and Friday we definitely won't due to the Fresher's Fair.
Welcome! Calendar is up at: https://www.google.com/calendar/b/0/embed?src=unibreakers@gmail.com There should be a link up at the top of the main unibreakers page. We mainly train at the University of Bristol union on Queens road in Clifton, the porters there usually know which room we're in too.
Are there any training sessions this week? Specifically after 6pm as I can not make it earlier than that. Will there be any training sessions next week onwards or will it be closed till next year.
Dude, is there a reason why the training spots on a Saturday have got later recently? Timing training avec drinking and partying becomes a bit tight is all :D
