Alternative to Break n Bake??????
  • yo
as there is no break n bake because of the loss of the speakers, couldn't we just have battles in the dance studio and someone can bring speakers? i think alot of people including myself have speakers so carrying on with a small event would be relatively easy right? also having it in the dance studio, i think, would create a better atmosphere than epi anyway! reckon it would be a nice leaving event for people moving out of bristol! what do people think?

  • Cool idea.
  • I think this is a good idea, too bad I already left Bristol ^^. Kate can hopefully sort you out with a room, and talk to Emma since she knows all the event stuff
  • dope!!!
  • You guys are more than welcome to use any of the training slots to have a nice little battle, but I'm afraid an individual event is out of reach. All members of the new committee are already home / will be very soon and the old committee made a statement about events for this year (it wasn't just about Break 'n Bake). But as I've said, if you organize a little battle session for yourself on one of the trainings that's cool. Please check the calendar for that! Mind you, if the calendar is empty that means we don't have summer training times yet (Union is particularly clumsy about those). Also, please don't do gerilla sessions (we are sorry that Union is slow, but cannot do anything) or we will retaliate with laser cannons.
  • Lately as the union has been quiet the porters have been happier to deal with us. the calendars are not up to date but the porters have told me the past few days which rooms and times we do actually have booked on their timetable which we've been spreading around. hopefully there will be some official long term timetable soon from Margret?

Out of term time society responsibility needs to be addressed to make sure all the right procedures are followed and permissions granted through the Committee/Margret/Porters while still letting people train. It's been mentioned a responsible non student might want to join the committee as someone solely in charge of out of term training.

Theres little harm in the event, if its within booked training times as intended, and people are happy for it to go ahead. Seems to be backed by the majority of people that have been attending training sessions regularly anyway. i think the safest thing to do is to inform the porters and let them know what we intend to do. Best get a good summer relationship with terry off to a good start
  • Thanks Mayan, wise words. If people negotiate with porters over the summer it's fine. Yes, we are still waiting for response from Margaret.

If somebody wants to join the society, contact on email, it's still on.

Indeed there is no harm in the event, so go for it and do it. Within training time, that's the only condition the committee has.
