Got an email from Emma of Polesoc asking if we can give them a hand with a performance at Wills Hall next Sunday. The organizers (as usual) are asking too much of them, they want 2 hours (8PM - 10PM) and the Polers don't have enough routines to fill that time so were hoping we could fill some intermissions for them.
She's asking for free drinks and free food from the organisers, but I also think this is exactly the kind of event we need to get freshers aware of- and interested in- breaking.
I'm down, we need to know pretty quickly if we can do this so post up if you want to get involved.
We've got 4 people now so I'm going to confirm we can do this. More would still be better though, we need to put on a good show for the freshers! @Mike - Do we have any propaganda we could distribute while we're there about lesson etc. ?
Plan for tonight is to arrive at Wills Hall around 7:30 so we have time to warm up & sort things out. That said, it doesn't look like we'll be on until 8:30, so try to be there by then. We're down for two 10 min jams with a half hour gap in between.
Was thinking it might be good to sort out a short 1 min intro routine once we're there, it takes the pressure of whoever goes 1st and they're usually not as tiring as a throwdown so it'd allow us to save some energy.
In terms of music I was thinking Izaak's "Hype mix" followed maybe by Mayan's classic one for the second jam, or maybe one of Laszlo's shorter ones. @Ho Wing - do you have a copy of Izaak's mix?
